Vonetta Young is the founder and CEO of Vonetta Young Advisors, a consultancy that helps emerging managers to go the next level of fundraising and fund management through due diligence preparation and business planning.
Vonetta started her career in communications, focusing on making complex information clear, before transitioning to financial services. She interned at the SBIC Program at the U.S. Small Business Administration and worked in New York City as an Investment Associate at Abbott Capital Management, where she completed due diligence on premiere private equity and venture capital funds. A double Hoya, Vonetta holds a BA in English and an MBA in Finance from Georgetown University.
Disheartened by the small amount of capital garnered by women and people of color investment managers, Vonetta started Vonetta Young Advisors to remove barriers to accessing capital by filling knowledge gaps and ensuring top investor relations protocols.
In addition to her work in financial services, Vonetta is a writer whose personal essays and short stories have been featured in numerous publications, online and in print. She serves as treasurer of the board of the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation, a literary arts organization for writers of color. Vonetta enjoys weightlifting, jazz music, PGA golf, and Premier League soccer.
